Music Distribution Guide
Distributing your music through Mcarthur Records puts your songs on all major streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer, Tidal, and many more.
Preparing Your Release
Before you upload, make sure you have:
- High-quality audio files (WAV or FLAC)
- Cover art (3000x3000 pixels, JPG or PNG)
- Metadata spreadsheet (track titles, artists, ISRC codes, etc.)
- Lyrics (optional but recommended)
Upload Process
- Log in to your Mcarthur Records dashboard
- Click "New Release" in the navigation menu
- Select "Single" or "Album/EP"
- Fill in all required metadata fields
- Upload your audio files and artwork
- Set your release date
- Review and submit
Metadata Best Practices
- Use consistent artist names across all platforms
- Include featured artists in the title (e.g., "Song Title (feat. Artist Name)")
- Add ISRC codes for each track
- Include UPC/EAN for albums
- Add genre tags accurately
Distribution Timeline
- Upload processing: 24-48 hours
- Quality check: 48-72 hours
- Delivery to DSPs: 3-5 days before release date
- Live on platforms: Release date (00:00 local time in each territory)
⚠️ Important: Submit your release at least 2 weeks before your desired release date to ensure it goes live on time.
